It is denoted by (Z)

Its unit is Ohm Ω

 Z = I Z I ∠ φ   Ω (Polar form)

Rectangular form

Z = R + jX

Where,

R = resistive port

jX = reactive port

I Z I = √ R² + X ²

Φ = tan ^-1 (X/R)
